We are happy to announce that joining the Compass Draw community is free and getting started is simple. Registering for tournaments come with just small fees.
Let's face it, hanging outside the courts with a hopeful look on your face looking for a pickup match may not be the best use of your time.
The Compass Draw tournament brings together players from all around the local area and selects your opponents for you.
All you need to do is find a mutually agreeable time to play the match (within a two-week deadline) and then just play!
Looking for a doubles partner? No problem, we have a Partner Finder page to help you out!
Unless it is early April and you are an overworked tax accountant, of course you have time to play!
What you DON’T have time for is trying to find someone to play and setup the match.
With Compass Draw, we setup the matches for you along with the flexibility of only having to play one match every two weeks.
You and your opponent work out a timeslot that works for both of you. All of the other decisions, like Where do we play? and Who brings the balls? Have all been worked out.
If you just play random opponents, you may find yourself either in way over your head or up against someone who does not challenge you.
Either way, it is not all that fun for either player/team.
Players in the Compass Draw tournament only play other players close to their same rating level. Also the compass format means your matches get harder when you win and easier when you lose.
Many of us have a group of regulars we play with.
This is fun, but it can get you in a bit of a rut.
The Compass Draw tournament allows you to meet and compete against new players from around the area.
The compass format ensures that your matches get more and more competitive each round.
Nothing is worse than paying the entry fee for a tournament, waiting around for your first match, and then losing!
Nothing left to do but go home and watch Netflix.
Not so with the Compass Draw! In a Compass Draw tournament, you get to keep playing even when you lose.
You just move to a different part of the draw (North, South, North-West, etc.). Click here to see how this works.
ALL players get AT LEAST FIVE scheduled matches (most get even more).
ABSOLUTELY! Not only do the winners of the main brackets get a prize, so do the winners of the consolation brackets.
In larger divisions, even the runners-up (runner-ups?) get prizes…what a deal!
No cheesy plastic trophies for your dog to chew or your cat to knock off the shelf! Instead, prizes come from our prize partner, Tennis Warehouse and are in the form of e-gift cards.
The amounts depend on the number of players/teams in a division (4, 6, 8, 12, 16, or 32).
